Are companies even hiring h-1b transfers anymore ?

Just wanted to get opinions from other folks on h-1b about the state of the market right now. For context, I got laid off on h-1b a couple months ago and have been actively applying and interviewing (5 yoe software engineer). I’ve had at least 9 interviews/application processes cut short once I told them I was on h-1b and would need a transfer. I was under the impression that having a valid h-1b made navigating the market easier than being on OPT or no authorization. I get that sentiment has changed recently due to politics but didn’t think it was this bad. So was just curious how others are navigating this and if there’s companies that are actively taking transfers or is it purely a game of luck right now. submitted by /u/Infinite_Web_6713 to r/h1b [link] [comments]
