Do Banks Hate This One Simple Trick?

So back in May I took out an unsecured loan with my local credit union to finance some home improvement projects. The loan was for $30,000 with a 12% APR. I just got a pre-approved offer (via credit karma) to refinance at 8% with SoFi... Seems like a no-brainer to me. I want to maintain a good relatoonship with my credit union, because for 10+ years theyve been great to deal with. If I refinance this loan so soon after opening it, is my credit union less likely to approve me for loans in the future? Or what if down the road I want to take a stab at refinancing the same loan with my credit union? Would that be a bad look? submitted by /u/Degenerate_in_HR to r/Banking [link] [comments]
