55 people became U.S. citizens in New Orleans today, and I was one of them. 🇺🇸
On September 18, 2026, I took the Oath of Allegiance at the National WWII Museum in New Orleans, Louisiana. After years of paperwork, waiting, and wondering when this day would finally come, it still feels surreal to say: I’m a U.S. citizen. Taking the oath in a place that honors the courage and sacrifices of those who fought for freedom made the morning feel especially meaningful. There were 55 of us, from different countries, starting this new chapter. (I’m from Costa Rica). For anyone curious about the N-400 timeline, here’s mine: • N-400 filed: October 15, 2025 • Interview: July 8, 2026 • Oath ceremony: September 18, 2026 From filing to oath, my process took about 11 months. For everyone still waiting: I was once in your shoes, waiting for this day. Today, I’m finally celebrating. Hang in there… your day will come too! Officially a U.S. citizen! 🇺 🇸 submitted by /u/Dangerous-Door5512 to r/USCIS [link] [comments]
