I'm filing Form N-600K for my son. As his U.S. citizen mother by birth, I don't meet the physical presence requirement to transmit citizenship directly, so we're relying on his U.S. citizen grandfather (my father) instead. My father lived and worked in the U.S. for about 20 years, with his last period of physical presence ending in 2002. I understand the grandparent must show at least 5 years of physical presence, including 2 years after age 14. Question 1: For the "Period of physical presence in the United States" section, should I list my father's entire ~20-year presence, or only the specific periods needed to meet the 5-year (with 2 years post-14) minimum? Question 2: I have some entry/exit stamps, but not all of them. I also have U.S. payslips covering about 5 years (2 complete years, 3 partial years) and am trying to find more. If I can't get all the necessary payslips, what other evidence could establish his physical presence? Question 3: Based on current USCIS processing times, I was considering the Michigan field office since I plan to stay with a friend there — but Michigan shows ~21 months while some other offices show ~3 months.
