Overpaying and Upside Down on my Car Loan

I owe $29k on my Tundra. It is currently worth $22k-$24k. The car payment is $668 a month and I spend $400 a month on gas. So $1200 a month roughly on just the truck + maintenance (which I do on my own) $1200 a month feels like a prison and I just can’t get ahead financially. I can get away with a small Corolla or Prius type of vehicle, and any truck uses I can mitigate with a rental or my wife’s jeep. What can I actually do to get out of this as fast as possible without completely screwing myself? Thank you in advance! Edit: 8.24% APR, I know this was a stupid decision, I prioritized reliability of vehicle over personal finance and stress lol Edit: 2017 Toyota Tundra 4x4 5.7L V8 at 149,200 miles, good condition with no mechanical problems submitted by /u/peteybird777 to r/personalfinance [link] [comments]
