Do you keep your 401K throughout retirement?

I thought you kept your 401K account throughout retirement and withdrew when you need money. Someone told me you have to cash it all out when you retire. I was hoping you could set it up to sell/transfer cash to your checking account every week or two like a paycheck to yourself! How does it really work? submitted by /u/Remmy2023 to r/personalfinance [link] [comments]
