EAD approved 4 months post interview

My EAD was approved today, 4 months after our i130/i485 interview at Sacramento FO which was in late April 2026. Our i130 and i485 are still pending. I'm not from a banned country. Adjusting from H1B, married to a USC spouse. Below is the timeline of our application process. December 18, 2025: USCIS received Form I-130, I-485, I-765, I-131. December 30, 2025: Received RFE for the latest income tax returns of the spouse. January 13th: Biometrics appointment attended March 10th: Respond to RFE. March 24th: Interview scheduled. April 29th: Attended an interview, it was very short. The officer did not indicate anything and said they didn't need anything from us. Did not give us any indication of approval or any slip. I was asked standard i485 questions and asked to sign the iPad. May 17th: Silent update on I-485 July 21st: Silent update on I-485 August 29th: EAD approved, i130 and i485 still pending. I was just wondering if anyone is in the same situation. So confused at this point why EAD to be approved 4 months post interview. submitted by /u/yashted to r/USCIS [link] [comments]
