OPT pending since April - should I apply for Premium Processing for an October internship?

I applied for my opt on April 3 Biometrics on April 9 Case has been processing since then I recently secured an internship that starts in October, so I’m considering paying for Premium Processing (PP). However, I’ve heard that PP doesn’t necessarily guarantee a decision within 30 days, and that switching to PP may restart the processing timeline. For anyone who has been in a similar situation recently, would you recommend upgrading to Premium Processing now, or waiting a little longer given that my internship starts in October? Also, does upgrading to PP actually “restart” the case, or does USCIS continue processing the existing application under the premium timeline? Would really appreciate any recent experiences or advice. submitted by /u/Responsible_Abies630 to r/f1visa [link] [comments]
