Career with being a teller?

Hello, I’m going to start my first day as a teller next Monday with not prior banking experience and just wanted to see if anyone had any experience with starting a career in baking as a teller? How long did you stay as a teller? Did you get promoted quick? Did you move to different branches or job hop? My main goal is to have a career hopefully in 5-10 years down the road.
