For DSOs- anyone have success reaching out with the new SEVPFraud@hsi.dhs.gov website?
Has any DSO had questionable CPT policies or procedures and been able to successfully get in contact with this new email inbox? I have emailed several times with no response and it is incredibly frustrating. DSOs who tend to be overworked and underpaid are now saddled with the burden of ensuring academic curriculum is up to snuff to allow for CPT or they risk perjury? I don’t understand how it’s our job to ensure that the academic teams review the applications properly AND ensure that an internship is truly integral. Am I really expected to ensure that a CPT approval for a Project Management major as a “health and safety specialist” is integral to the program? How would I be the expert in that? Yet at the end of the day, SEVP would put the blame on me, the DSO, for authorizing it instead of the academic team who approved it. Also who am I to assess integral and required for each program? I’m not sitting in a classroom with students making sure each internship is being applied properly. If I suspect CPT may be being used questionably but I’m told by the University that it’s fine, what am I supposed to do? Quit and lose my insurance and be homeless or stay and risk never becoming a D…
