supporting an external event
Before commenting, please be kind because I'm already sad enough with the thought of having to reject this "offer" too, since this is one of my dream companies lol. But I know I have to do the right thing. :( Hi, so I applied to support an event by a company. The event will be held in my school. I went through the interview process and turns out they do have a stipend for students helping out. During the interview, they asked me if I am "authorized to work", and I said yes, because I thought this is just a one time thing, and I help out events in school all the time, and if anything. Later I realize that I shouldn't be treating "supporting events" of an external company the same as ones held by school. Now I am accepted in the team, and they're going to send the official contract to me. They say they will also run a background check (in which they already did, because I submitted a few details on Checkr, inc. my SSN). I'm still waiting to see the working hours and other details. But I'm confused of who to consult with once it's out. Should I contact my DSO or talk to an attorney for a legal advice? My considerations: I can do CPT, but I need to take an internship class for my CPT t…
