Semester Abroad in Italy - cell plan

hello! i am studying abroad for a semester in Rome and i was wondering what people recommend for a phone plan? i obviously have my domestic phone plan, but ive seen most people say you need a local e-sim for long term trips. im fine with that but just lost on the type of plan? again, im gonna be in Rome for about 12 weeks. i also plan on traveling throughout Europe while im abroad, so i dont know if that changes the recommendations. i know i should get a local (e-)sim, but are there any good recommendations? i’ve seen a few TikToks about plans where it’s “unlimited” data and you kept refilling it through the month. my accommodation will have WiFi but they’ve told us it’s pretty slow. i’d appreciate any explanations, recommendations, and help. thank you ! submitted by /u/CreativeAd2263 to r/studyAbroad [link] [comments]
