Cancelling my exchange programme

Hey! So, for context I am already studying abroad in the Nethelrands when I'm originally from Spain. However, I decided to come study abroad in Taiwan and after being here for only 3 days and even though the semester didn't start yet, I am thinking of cancelling it. I am confident in my decision and even though I know I technically haven't given it a fair shot, I have been struggling mentally recently and while initially I thought exchnage would help me I find now upon reflecting that I would much rather revert to social support systems I have built in the Netherlands and Spain. After being in Taipei for 3-4 days, I already have an idea of the way of life and don't find myself fearing missing out since I have already visited Asia several times and I really do think I am more suited to a European lifestyle. I guess the reason why I am writing this post is because after spending money on tickets and a visa, and also in general, people will not react well to my decision and will say I didn't give it a fair chance which feels really devalidaitng especially considering I know myself best. Have any of you had similar experiences? How do you deal with it? submitted by /u/Reasonable_Shift8…
