~$70k saved at 21. Don't know what to do with it.

Been doing remote/contract work for software engineering since high school, continued throughout college and have a healthy salary lined up for when I graduate early. Not really a big spender. Now I have ~$60k in a HYSA and recently put $10k into index funds/ETFs (which is now 11! nice). I do not have a 401k or IRA, which I know I probably should do and max out, but do not know enough to go about the process of opening one. Generally I feel like I just don't know the "best" thing to do with it in order to set me up for the future well. Don't know if certain banks/platforms are better than others, etc. Especially if I'm going to be earning much more than I do now when I go full-time, I want to know what I should be doing with it. So just looking for advice really, and generally any tips to set me off in the right direction. submitted by /u/Key-Requirement-965 to r/personalfinance [link] [comments]
