review paper

I’m considering writing a scientific review paper to strengthen my PhD applications. I recently completed a Master’s degree in an engineering field For those with experience in academia or PhD admissions: is writing a review paper as a recent graduate actually worth the time and effort for improving PhD chances? If so, what type of paper would you recommend for someone without a publication record? And are review/scoping papers realistic to publish, or would the time be better spent focusing on applications and research experience? I’d really appreciate honest advice from people who have been through this. submitted by /u/Radiant_Influence_32 to r/gradadmissions [link] [comments]
