Divorce monetary gift

Hello. I’m getting a divorce and keeping my house. I am assuming the loan and was looking into a second mortgage to pay out my stbx. My parents told me they don’t want me to do that and will give me the money to pay off his half, but advised me that shouldnt be made aware of this. We’re still sharing a home and comingling our finances, until he finds a new home. I know he will want to compare loans and will ask me what kind of APR I’m getting. We’re going through the collaborative process for our divorce and the attorneys have suggested that we wait until the end of the year to file the paperwork, so we can file taxes one more year as married. Is it possible to keep this gift under wraps from him? submitted by /u/DifficultStuff11 to r/personalfinance [link] [comments]
