Issue with opt ead card end date

Hi everyone, I’m dealing with a weird OPT EAD issue and wanted to see if anyone has gone through something similar. My program end date on my official I-20 is May 8, 2026. USCIS approved my post-completion OPT on July 28, 2026, and my EAD card says: Start date: July 28, 2026 End date: July 27, 2027 From what I understand, post-completion OPT has to be completed within 14 months of the program end date. Since my program ended May 8, 2026, that 14-month limit should end on July 8, 2027. So it looks like USCIS gave me an EAD expiration date about 19 days beyond that limit. I already received the physical card and I’m planning to send it back to USCIS for correction with my OPT I-20 and supporting documents. My main concern is that I have a job that I need to start. Has anyone had this type of EAD date correction before? Were you able to start working with the current EAD while requesting the correction? And if USCIS requires the original card back, were you able to continue working while waiting for the corrected card? Also, does anyone know how OPT unemployment days are counted while USCIS is correcting an EAD error like this? Any experience with a similar situation would really help…
