Negotiating RSUs out of employment compensation

Lots of equity lost for DACA folks with unvested stock options due to termination when permits expire. I learned my lesson. The company rehired me but with the same compensation package as before. I can see myself losing out again if I get terminated due to a lapse caused by delays. I’m currently in the transition to another role with a different employer.
