Marriage based AOS question

My partner (USC 31) and I (F1 30) have been together for 9 years, living together for 7 years. We have lived in 3 different states together. I was a student the whole time (undergrad, masters, phd. We are thinking of getting married this fall. How long after the marriage would it be appropriate to file AOS? Do we have to file the necessary forms and evidence all at the same tome? or do we just submit the forms and gather evidence as we wait for the interview?
