h1B re-entry after <30 days trip (worked remotely for around 20 days) will there be any issues at CBP?

Hi everyone, I am planning a ~30-day trip outside the U.S. and intend to work remotely for my U.S. employer for part of that duration. I’m on an H-1B visa with full employer approval to work remotely for these few weeks. I've recently seen reports of STEM OPT holders facing questioning or secondary inspection by CBP after disclosing they worked remotely from abroad. I want to understand how this applies to H-1B holders on short trips under 30 days. Status: Active H-1B (Valid Visa Stamp & Approved I-797) Questions: Has any H-1B holder experienced CBP issues or secondary inspection for working remotely during a short (<30 day) trip to abroad? How should I answer if the CBP officer asks, "Were you working while you were outside the U.S.?" What documents (beyond I-797, LCA, paystubs, employment verification letter) should I carry? submitted by /u/Physical_Ideal_3949 to r/h1b [link] [comments]
