Job offer with a pending OPT EAD (Premium Processing)

Hi everyone, I received a full-time job offer on July 17 . My employer knew from the beginning that my OPT EAD was still pending. To speed things up, I upgraded my pending I-765 application to Premium Processing on July 18 , and I immediately informed my employer. They were very understanding and initially set my start date for August 3 . Since my EAD is still pending, they’ve now pushed my start date to August 10 . I’ve already completed my background check, drug screening, and almost all of my onboarding paperwork. The only thing I’m waiting on is EAD approval. I’m getting a bit anxious now since it’s still pending. Has anyone been in a similar situation? Should I be concerned about the employer rescinding the offer, or is it common for companies to keep delaying the start date until the EAD is approved?
