How I Found My EAD Card Which Was Lost by the USPS

Hello everyone, I'm making this post to share my experience finding my EAD card after USPS lost it, in case my advice helps someone else. I applied for STEM OPT and was scheduled to receive my EAD card on July 23rd. At 4:18 PM on July 23rd, USPS tracking showed the package as "Delivered." At 4:24 PM, I went downstairs but didn't see a USPS truck or courier. I asked the concierge and a couple of other people in the building — nobody had seen a USPS courier either. After 7:00 PM, I checked my mailbox and found all my mail except the EAD card. That's when I knew USPS had lost it. Thanks to a Reddit post on this exact issue, I decided not to wait the usual few business days and immediately filed a missing mail request. I got in touch with USPS Customer Care. Spoiler: they're not much help in this situation. Yes, you should open a missing mail case, but the rep told me they could only leave messages in the case and forward it to the local post office. My local post office was unresponsive — they didn't answer any of my calls/messages. On July 25th, I decided to catch the USPS courier myself.
