DACA expires next week. I’ve made peace with it

So… I’m literally just a few days away from my EAD expiring, and honestly? I’m at peace with it. Today HR wanted my physical EAD. I explained everything I’ve done with USCIS, that the delay is completely out of my control, and asked what the separation process looks like. The funny part? I think I was more prepared for this than my employer. They genuinely don’t seem ready to let me go. Meanwhile, I’m over here like… just tell me where to return my laptop, badge, and parking garage key, process my final check, pay out my vacation time, and let’s wrap this up. I’ve already booked my flight. I leave the U.S. on Tuesday, so mentally I’ve already checked out. A few months ago I would’ve been devastated. Now I’m just thinking, if the government doesn’t want me working, that’s out of my hands. I’ve carried enough stress over this. It’s weird how quickly your mindset changes. I went from refreshing my USCIS case every hour to planning two months in Asia and Europe. Life moves on. Anyway… who’s watching Spider-Man today? 🕷️ submitted by /u/HomeworkImpressive87 to r/DACA [link] [comments]
