Work location change H1b

I work in a consulting firm and am moving from NYC to LA. I have filed for H1B transfer with my company's lawyers, and they say the estimated start date would be 1st October. Can I move to LA on 1st September and work from there, because my partner has already moved? I do not have to go to the office anyway.
