Traveling outside the US before stamp expires

Hi everyone, My H-1B visa stamp is valid until September 18, and my employer has already filed my extension. I have the receipt notice confirming that the petition is pending. I need to travel to Mexico from August 10–15 for a family matter. Since my visa stamp will still be valid for about a month after I return, has anyone traveled and reentered the U.S. under similar circumstances? Did you experience any issues at the border or airport? I understand that once my current visa stamp expires, I will not be able to travel internationally and return without first obtaining a new valid stamp. I am mainly concerned about whether the pending extension could create any problems when I return on August 15. Any insight or personal experiences would be greatly appreciated. submitted by /u/Cross325 to r/h1b [link] [comments]
