Timeline: File date - Jan 29 Receipt date - Feb 2 Biometrics - Feb 20 (originally 22 rescheduled to earlier) Interview notice - May 7 Interview - Jun 2 I-130 approval Jun 29 I-485 approval Jul 29 FO: Hartford After way too much doomscrolling this reddit, here’s what I learned from my experience: Bust #1: Silent updates. Some posts claim you’ll see exactly two silent (timestamp) updates before approval. I had timestamp updates on 6/18, 6/23, 6/28, 7/1, and 7/28 before my approval on 7/29 . The number of silent updates mainly depends on how often you refresh the API. Constantly checking is unnecessary—I did it obsessively, and it only made me more anxious. Save yourself the stress. Sit back, live your life, and wait for the USCIS email. Bust #2: FTA1. Some posts claim you need two FTA1s before approval. I had one - and only one FTA1 after my interview. As far as I can tell, it simply indicates the interview has been completed. It doesn’t predict when or whether your case will be approved. Bust #3: Change phone number on profile.
