Be Warned! -- Passed naturalization test, a decision cannot be made yet
Hi all, I'm an American citizen. My husband and I went to the interview for the I-485 and N-400 in North Miami. We have been together for 17 years, married since 2022 and have a 7 year old daughter together. We came to the US in 2023, and he has had GC, etc. All been smooth. During this process, we have submitted A LOT of documentation... Photos, taxes, proof of travel, life insurance, lease, etc. I thought the interview would be A BREEZE. We brought some proof, like our 2024 tax transcript, recent joint bank statements, and health insurance (where me, him and my daughter are listed) as well as our DAUGHTER, and the guy was not having it. He was like, this is ALL you brought?? The burden of proof is on you, etc etc. He said my husband's GC is safe, but that his supervisor will review our file and that we may be asked for more proof. I went ahead and uploaded about 70 more files (in addition to the 30 I did in February during the N-400 application). I was naive and assumed it wouldn't be like going back to square one, considering everything we have already provided, but beware... Best to OVERPREPARE and not underprepare like we did. Sigh... Good luck everyone!!! submitted by /u/msut…
