Bank was absorbed by PNC end of June; my annual safe deposit fee wasn’t debited from my account & I’m losing it

The physical location with my safe deposit box still exists, however I should have been charged my annual fee between 6/16 - 7/1. My bank was absorbed by PNC 6/19. I’ve called customer service and they cannot tell me anything about my safe deposit box contract other than it’s still “open”, but no explanation as to why my annual fee wasn’t debited and said I will have to physically go into the bank tomorrow morning. Can anyone ease my mind?? Or give me insight? I’ve had a box at this location since 2020 and my annual fee is always debited from my savings account; I’ve never missed a payment and have funds available. The items I have stored are of high cash value and most are irreplaceable 😭🙏🏻 submitted by /u/wabi_sabi_mami to r/Banking [link] [comments]
